Congratulations to Kye Gardner, one of Purdy’s Senior Commercial Supervisors, who celebrates his 10th anniversary working with the Group today, 1st August 2022.
Kye joined Purdy from school, as a 16-year old Electrical Apprentice, and soon realised a career in electrics was the right one for him.
Purdy supported him through his Apprenticeship and, when fully qualified Kye worked on many different contracts and across various locations, which gave him the confidence to progress his career.
After proving himself as a highly competent Electrician, with a great work ethic, Kye was promoted to Electrical Supervisor, under Tim Venables’ mentorship. This resulted in Kye being able to share his knowledge with other Electricians under his supervision and gave him exposure to more of the office-based tasks, including working on the financial elements of a contract.
John Lord, Purdy’s Managing Director said:
“Kye came to work as an apprentice electrician on the Ascham contract 10 years ago. A very quiet individual who has blossomed whilst working at Purdy. Kye has shown a fantastic work ethic that has been rewarded with promotion to Senior Commercial Supervisor. Kye takes time to mentor and nurture those within his team with kindness and patience and has incredible attention to detail. Kye is a credit to the company and a shining example to his peers. The shoulder length long blonde hair may have long gone but this Samson has only gained strength!”
Kye moved into the new role of a Commercial Supervisor, specialising on the financial side of the contracts and became Head Office-based for the majority of his time; but he’s always remained willing to get his tools back out and help in the field when required.
Kye’s development continued further, and he was most recently promoted to Senior Commercial Supervisor on the Electrical side.
Kye’s considered to be a great asset to Purdy, he has a great sense of humour and enjoys socialising with friends and playing football in his non-working time, although being a lifelong and dedicated Arsenal fan one could question his sanity at times (this news piece having been written by a die-hard Spurs fan!).
When asked how Kye felt about his 10th year with Purdy, he said: “Over the last 10 years since I started working at Purdy`s I have met some amazing people. I have been fully supported and welcomed at the company and feel that I am part of a family. I am grateful for all of the opportunities that I have been given over the years and hope to continue to develop further and help develop others in the future.
